May 28 Ride - Beavermeade to Douro

On a beautiful spring day we cycled north on the RGWT over the canal for a ride east on the Pioneer Rd bike path. However when we reached the end of the bike path my e-bike lost it's power & Arndt had a flat tire. After replacing the inner tube Arndt was able after a few tries to obtain adequate pressure so he & I returned to Beavermeade. From Bill - After the flat tire & Pete's battery problem, the rest of us continued to Douro. On Warsaw Rd, it had been freshly Micro-paved, but was still rideable. We turned south on Douro 4th line, only to find the gravel portion had been freshly graded. A bit of a scary ride, but we kept to the edge out of the soft gravel & everyone made it through OK.  We came upon the grader at Division Rd, turned right & continued to Sweeney, turning left to Old Norwood Rd. From there we rode across a very busy TV Rd to Ashburnham Dr. & continued to Beavermead. The picnic shelter was cordoned off so only 3 of us (Bill, Blake, & Burton) stayed for lunch under  a tree.

Wed May 21 - Ennismore Ride

We met in the Ennismore Curling Club parking lot on a cold, blustery & overcast day for a 26.5 km ride in the rolling Ennismore countryside. From the curling club we cycled west on Ennis Rd thru Ennismore past The Tamarac Golf Club to Boundary Rd for a ride north to a hill climb overlooking  Pigeon Lk before descending to the lakeshore & turning onto Edenderry Line & east to Innascara Rd, north to Kerry Line & east across Tara Rd to Youngs Cove Rd for a ride beside Buckhorn Lake to Tipperary Rd & back to Edenderry Line, east to Robinson Rd, south to Listowel Line & east to Brick Rd & south to Ennis Rd then east to The Ennismore Waterfront Park on Chemung Lake. From the park we cycled west on Ennis Rd back to the curling club. After the ride Pete MacLoghlin,  Bill Hardwick, Steve Guerin, Dave Messervey, Blake Frazer & Dan Volman enjoyed pub grub at Jesse's. It was "tough sledding" but at least it did not start raining until we arrived home.
